In 1998 an opportunity to purchase female progeny of many imported sires from a dispersal of supreme circle angus stud. progeny from bulls such as sleep easy, Bando 598 scotch cap ob 45 and traveler 5204 and Australian Blood lines from the likes of Royaline and Ardrossan.
In 2000 we purchased noonee females from Minerva and jeannete bloodlines in the same year we searched the yathanbrae female catalogue for 036 blood line heifers which we purchased VLYU9, VLYU342, VLYU397 and VLYU118 which was a successful sale.
VLYU9 is a great asset to the stud, who’s full flush brother is Henry the viii. She has been used majorily in ET work at the stud and progeny are outstanding.
In May 2001 we made one purchase at the Greenvalley dispersal in which to acquire some Six + silks bloodlines. In December of that year, Woolamia Angus Stud dispersal we purchased some Sleep Easy and some Cash Flow females.
Recently at the Bear Tooth dispersal sale we made a purchase of some Rockin D Ambush blood lines. The most recent purchase was at Merridale sale 2005 which I purchase Merridale Maid Z15 who is by Merridale Nutmeg U88. She will stay at Merridale to be shown by the Collins Family under Black Label Angus. In time she will be flushed to select sires.
Angus National Expo 2004 was a complete success with our females winning Champion and Reserve unled females with four lots selling. Who were flush sisters to DJBY157 who was chosen for the Angus Australia Young Sire Program .We hope to keep having much more success in the near future.
